First Beach Cleanup of 2012- Saturday April 7th 10am-12pm
We are excited to have you back this year and hope you will be bringing your friends and family to join in the fun!
Our first beach cleanup of 2012 will be at our adopted beach:
Edgewater Beach State Park, Cleveland Ohio
Saturday, April 7th, 10am-12pm
Remember! Wear close toes shoes, come with an adult, and bring your own gloves if you can (hint: they fit much better). We welcome blue recycling bags and trash bags!
What to expect: Rain (snow) or shine, we will be there-but you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@DrinkLocalTap) for the latest. You will be tracking the trash you find which gets entered into a large database from DLDT for the Alliance for the Great Lakes to compile annually to learn more about (and do something about) the trash polluting our lakes.
A large focus this year is to get patrons to stop feeding the wildlife because it is directly affecting our local water quality. This means, getting people to stop feeding seagulls and to not leave food trash behind. We are working on ways to involve more cyclists an walkers to monitor both Euclid and Edgewater Parks to help educate the public. If this interests you, please connect with us on Facebook or through our contact section.
Remember, we have made sharing our cleanups easy! They are on our calendar (for the East and West side) and also on Facebook to invite your friends, church groups, workplaces, or neighbors.
See you at the beach!
