Our hero David Christof and why every drop matters
David Christof is a hero.
It’s not everyday that someone decides to wake up and exhaust their body beyond what many of us think is even possible all for the sake of saving people’s lives. David is that person. In 2007, David participated in Blue Planet Run to support safe water projects through our mutual global water partner, Blue Planet Network. In 2012, we met David via Facebook and then Skype to discuss ways in which we could work together and David’s passion and determination immediately became contagious. We decided to partner on our first Drink Local. Drink Tap., Inc. water project in Uganda to complete the fundraising needed to drill a deep borehole at St. Bonaventure Primary School.
The first water project was underway in 2012 and we needed about $10,000 more to complete it. David pulled support together from numerous people to finish the borehole phase of the St. Bonaventure project during his Prague to London run in 2012. In 2013, David completed a 3,000km run-bike from Prague to Africa and has raised $10,000 again for our safe water projects this year (happening late December-February). All we can say is Thank You.
Just like David makes running-biking 3,000km in 63 days look easy, he makes fundraising look easy too; but these projects do not happen alone. Every single last dollar-franc-euro-rupee that has been donated has made a difference. Every kind comment, words of encouragement and love, and people who have supported both Drink Local. Drink Tap., Inc. and David’s fundraising page via Blue Planet Network have made a difference. Every single drop in the bucket matters just like every single one of these children’s lives matter.
Thank you for your kindness, your contributions and support. It is so important for all of us to remember we all live on the same planet and need to care for one another.
