Sanitation and Hygiene Facilities
Toilets, hand-washing facilities and bathing areas help to close the circle on safety, dignity and good health.
Starting with clean water, DLDT realized the need for full-circle WASH solutions (water, sanitation and hygiene). Communities can thrive once these basic needs are met. DLDT builds VIP (ventilated improved pit) latrines, with bathing rooms and handwashing facilities. The pits can be emptied by a sanitation truck with community savings every 5-8 years. We predominately work in school-based settings, but also in settlements and villages.

- Health issues such as ulcers
- School attendance and more equal schooling for girls
