Join us for the 10th Annual 4 Miles 4 Water on June 10th, 2023 – Register Today!

Project Location: Kassanda District, Uganda

People Served: 1138 students (Boys= 617, Girls = 521) & 15 Teachers

Project Funding Needed: $9,500

The Problem

The main source of water is a pond and a borehole of which both are in a distance of 1 km just one way meaning pupils move a distance of 2km. The place where they move to go and fetch water is a hilly place and on top of that pupils move long distances from their homes to school.

Much as the water used is got from a pond, there is too much competition where by village community members also use this source of water even with animals. So students get had time of getting water in time because they are not given priority to get water- they get pushed away.

The Solution

DLDT has help assessment meetings, community meetings, surveyed and needs to implement a 80 meter deep borehole with classroom filters
