Family Spirit is a special place. Susan and Isaac, the center leaders, had no idea they’d have 267 children in just a few years. Coming from a life with HIV, they understood the stigma and issues many people face. They started helping children living with HIV by taking care of them and educating their community about equal treatment of people living with HIV and prevention. Family Spirit, a decade later, is a school, training center, orphanage/home, and farm (on separate land) that 267 children call home. Prior to this water source, children were walking to a crowded, dirty spring on a busy village road or drinking water form contaminated rain tanks. Many had worms, diarrhea and some have even lost their life.
