Maggya Primary School (Latrines)
The Problem
At Masaba Primary School, students were facing the crisis of multiple blocks of latrines that were a few feet from being full. Without new latrines, parents and teachers would be forced to dig unsafe, unsustainable latrines. This is a highly populated school that needed to address this immediately. If students don’t have a place to ‘go’ – especially girls- dropouts will rise, and sickness an even death can happen at higher rates.
The Solution
DLDT was able to construct both a borehole and two latrine blocks with hand washing in 2018. Students are healthy, happy and no longer visiting this crowded, polluted spring or missing school.
