The Solution

At Mitalamaria Islamic Primary School in Mpigi Uganda, Drink Local Drink Tap has installed 20,000 liters of rainwater harvesting. A survey for groundwater was unsuccessful, so the next best option was rainwater. Phase two for improvement of water, hygiene and sanitation planning is two latrines, a bathing area, two hand washing stations and a wash area for clothes. In this small school compound, 300 of 500 students live and disease is passed very easily.
