Nkoma Centre A Village
The Problem
A few years prior, the Nkoma Centre A community had been ‘given’ a water system that connected to other parts of the village. Road constructions and lack of sensitizing people led to the failure of the project. When DLDT found Nkoma A, a water committee was activated, the borehole was cleaned, yield was tested, water quality was tested and an installation occurred. This community had been walking for hours everyday to crowded water sources. Water had become difficult with extended drought in this part of Uganda. Nkoma A now takes true ownership of this ‘new’ sustainable water source and has an active water committee.
The Solution
New, properly installed and protected borehole
