Wantabya Kkizongo Primary School

The Problem

Wantabya Kkizongo Primary School is located in the very dry district of Nakasongola and serves 9 teachers and 85 students Baby Class through Primary 4. Some students didn’t come to school because there was no water, and if they did come, they walked 4 kilometers round trip to collect it missing at least the first lesson of the school day. Most students cannot carry bigger containers of water, so they were faced with diarrhea and, especially because of the very young children served, many accidents occur at school and there is no way to properly wash children.

Deep-borehole, hand-washing station, bio-sand filters and water committee formation
